Element Connectivity and Orientation The element connectivity, orientation, and offsets of all supported elements (shells and beams) are imported into the database. Unsupported elements are ignored, not deleted. (Unsupported elements will not be visible in the FEM Viewer.)
Component Assignment By default all elements are imported as smeared panel and beam components. See About Components, Importing Smeared Panel Components from the FEM.
Applied Pressure and Temperature Element pressure loads are stored in the database. Pressure loads are imported for mechanical load sets only. Pressure loads can be used to compute the stresses and displacement from pressure loads offline from the FEM. This is important if the model is too coarse to capture true pressure deflection.
Temperature loads are also stored in the database (for thermal load sets only).
Load Sets (Subcases) Nastran subcases are imported to form load sets. See About Load Sets, Importing Load Sets.
Important: Element forces (Nx, Ny, .. ) are not stored in the database due to the potentially massive amount of data. See Setup Tab.
