Templates

Templates store assembly and component settings. Once a template has been created, it can be used to apply these settings to other components and assemblies.

• Use templates to capture a snapshot of your assembly and component design. After creating the template, you can revert back to the original design later by applying the template.
• You can also use templates to apply assembly and component settings to other assemblies/components.
• Templates are associated with the database (as opposed to the project). Therefore they can be applied to any project within the database.

Tasks Associated with Templates

• Create Templates are created by copying settings from an existing assembly-component pair. See Creating Templates.
• Apply After you create a template, you can apply the template to components. Applying templates copies the template settings to the components. See Applying Templates.
• Import Templates can be imported from other databases. See Importing Templates.
• Delete See Deleting Templates.
