Templates store assembly and component settings. Once a template has been created, it can be used to apply these settings to other components and assemblies.
Use templates to capture a snapshot of your assembly and component design. After creating the template, you can revert back to the original design later by applying the template.
You can also use templates to apply assembly and component settings to other assemblies/components.
Templates are associated with the database (as opposed to the project). Therefore they can be applied to any project within the database.
Create Templates are created by copying settings from an existing assembly-component pair. See Creating Templates.
Apply After you create a template, you can apply the template to components. Applying templates copies the template settings to the components. See Applying Templates.
Import Templates can be imported from other databases. See Importing Templates.
