About Stringer Segment Components

Stringer segment components are stiffened panels modeled in the FEM using discretely meshed stiffeners. The figures below show examples of the FEM idealization compared to the structural model.

• Stringer segments are created by assigning shell and beam elements based on the modeling technique. See About Discrete Modeling Techniques.
• Stringer segments are not imported from the FEM. They are created automatically or manually as a postprocess.
