The FEM Interface Options form is found by clicking Import/Export Options on the Setup tab of the Project Setup form.
Important: If options are dimmed, they can no longer be changed because the model has already been imported. In order to set these options, the FEM must first be "removed."
Import PCOMP properties and create laminates
If enabled, the Nastran PCOMP definitions, Abaqus composite section definitions etc. will be imported and assigned to components. This process only works if the FEM material IDs are linked to materials in the HyperSizer database. See Linking to FEM Materials.
(Nastran only) Import non-structural masses (NSM) and store as "Added Weight"
If enabled, NSM fields will be stored as "Added Weight". The Added weight is viewable in the Options tab of the Sizing form.
(Nastran only) Import pressure and temperature loads from the first run deck only
If enabled, pressure and temperature loads will be imported from the first run deck only. Otherwise,, pressure and temperature loads will be imported from all run decks.
Export laminates, sandwiches, and beams as: PSHELL, PBAR or PCOMP, PBARL
For the unstiffened/sandwich panel family, the properties can be exported using the ABD matrix (PSHELL) or the layup definition (PCOMP).
For beams, the properties can be exported using beam properties (PBAR - A, I1, I2,...) or by specifying the cross-section dimensions (PBARL).
Launches the Analysis Defaults form. See Analysis Defaults.
Saves the current import and export settings as the default settings for the database.
