About Run Decks

A run deck is a FEM input file (BDF) paired with the corresponding results file (OP2). Oftentimes a project is associated with multiple run decks. Here we make a distinction between the primary run deck and the secondary run decks.

Model data (grids, element, properties) are imported from the primary run deck only.
Because elements are imported from the primary run deck only, this run deck must contain all of the elements that are to be analyzed. Secondary run decks may contain a subset of the elements in the primary run deck.
Results data (load sets/subcases, element forces, displacements, etc.) are imported from all run decks.
Load set IDs (subcase IDs) must be unique among all run decks.
