About Automatic Iteration with HyperFEA

After sizing optimization, panel and beam components will have updated dimensions and material properties. These updated properties will impact the overall stiffness of the global FEM which, in turn, will modify the global load path. Therefore iteration between HyperSizer and FEA needs to be performed in order to converge the global load path with the updated panel and beam properties.

HyperFEA automates the process of updating the FEM, submitting the new model to FEA, and importing the new load path (element forces). HyperFEA is also used to apply global optimization constraints such as tip deflection.

The HyperFEA optimization loop is described below. Note that within the iteration loop, each iteration starts with FEA and ends with HyperSizer.
