A bill of materials spreadsheet may be exported from the FEM Viewer. This spreadsheet contains the material weight and cost for all components in the active assembly. The cost is determined based on the cost per mass defined for each material. See Material Definition.
Important: Sizing results should exist for all components in the active assembly.
Tip: For an accurate cost estimate, the Bill of Materials (BOM) cost per mass value, entered by the HyperSizer user, should roll up all aspects that contribute to total cost, and include as a minimum: material waste, fabrication technology, direct manufacturing cost and indirect costs.
How to export a bill of materials spreadsheet using the FEM Viewer
Alternatively you may right-click on an assembly in the legend and select Export Bill of Materials.
