Why use explicit, closed form solutions?
« on: May 05, 2008, 02:32:57 PM »
By using the accurately computed FEA internal loads from the loads model, HyperSizer ensures all potential failure modes are prevented by using explicit or 'closed form' solutions. The simplest analogy to this capability is an automated hand stress check performed after the internal FEA loads are computed. Physics based solutions are also preferred to empirical or special case methods because they are both more general and more accurate. As a robust, automated structural analysis system, HyperSizer has an extensive list of physics based strength, stability, stiffness, and minimum frequency failure analyses that are highly integrated into the solution process. The explicit methods have complete knowledge of the FEM, detailed design, and materials. HyperSizer also allows for user defined design criteria such as manufacturing minimum sheet gages and composite material ply layup sequences.
