BJSFM - How do I change the default characteristic dimension (Do)

The default Characteristic dimension (Do) in Hypersizer is 0.016 per the MIL-HDBK-17. How do we change the default dimension (Do)

Yes the default characteristic dimension can be changed.

In the database window, right click on the user  project or workspace name

Then select "Backdoor Data" from the pull down menu

Find the bolted joint section in the backdoor form

In the project value column enter the desired characteristic dimension Do

If the user wants to set up the characteristic dimension for all projects, then edit the Hypersizer template backdoor settings . The characteristic dimension can also be input on the orthotropic allowables form, on the joints and holes TAB.
