I seem to recall from several years ago that there was an issue with the "Free" edge condition. I'm trying to analyze an existing panel design, and develop an equivalent different concept design, that has the short edges fixed and the long edges free. If I make a run with the long edges free, all the failure margins are identical to those with the long edges simply supported. The internal moments are also the same, reflecting the presence of the long edge simple supports in both cases. Is there any way around this?
