Link geometric variables within a group?
« on: May 05, 2009, 03:05:16 PM »
Is it possible to link 2 design variables within a group such that their size is constrained to be the same?

For example - say I have a "Trusscore sandwich (bonded)" concept, and I want to enforce the relationship "Top Flange - Width, hat only" = "Bottom Crown - Width". This would result in a corrugated-like panel design, with evenly spaced and symmetric "stiffener" sections in the core.

We do not currently have the ability to link two design variables together except those that are explicitely defined on the Concepts tab.

For example, in the corrugated family, one of the options on the Concepts tab is the link flange and web thicknesses.  This option causes the optimized design to have a constant thickness between the top flange, web, and crown thicknesses.

However, if the linkage is not already explicitly spelled out on that tab, we have no way to link variables together.
