Title: Removing Elements from Component Group
Post by: Tom Dragone on August 06, 2014, 03:27:13 PM
Is it possible to remove some elements from a component?
I have some extraneously high loads locally in a few elements that are driving the mass up for the entire component panel.  When I use Component/Change Component Membership Using Graphics, I cannot pick the elements to remove.  When I manually change the element list to remove the unwanted elements, I get an error "Element List has not changed.  Note that for component membership elements can only be added and not removed from the original definition."
Is there a way around this component definition without going back to my FEM to redefine properties?

Elements cannot be removed from existing components. Elements can only be added to newly made components or added to the current component being modified. This is enforced because you cannot have elements not assigned to a property in the FEM, so in HyperSizer you cannot have unassigned elements.
