Title: Bonded Hat Stiffened Concept
Post by: oseresta on March 24, 2011, 01:21:40 PM
What does each of this variable means

1. Open Span [Span between two consecutive hat stiffener top flange (on either side) ends]
2. Closed Span [Span between the webs of the same stiffener]
3. Spacing Span

I couldnt find any description of the bonded hat geometry referred in the failure tab.

Thanks

These objects are explained in more detail in the local buckling .HME document

For the analysis of a hat stiffened panel:
1. Open span - Top facesheet between the flanges of two adjacent stiffeners
2. Closed span - Top facesheet between the flanges of the same stiffener
3. Spacing span - open span + bonded combo. This is basically all the skin not including the closed span.

Let me know if this is unclear.
