Access Failure Analysis Category via script
« on: March 28, 2014, 09:37:38 AM »
Hello,

Is it possible to access the Failure Analysis Category via script?

If not, changing the description of User Defined Analyses would also help.

My intention is to find the minimum MS of each (selected) category and print them. For the included analyses, sorting the MS by searching the description string for keywords like "Local Buckling" worked.

Regards,
Heini

No, unfortunately this capability is not exposed. If this is for overall project setup, the current best practice in V7 is to use the "Apply to.." display sets/ assemblies feature to help manage component specific failure analysis selections.

To change the description of the user-defined failure analysis, see: http://hypersizer.com/help_7.0/#Udef/udef-viewing.php%3FTocPath%3DUser%2520Defined%2520Analyses%7C_____2

You can use the utility spreadsheet to report the minimum MS for each category, like "buckling" or "strength".
