Regarding "10%rule" in the Layup

Hi all,
in the material management, there are 2 families: Material Family "3-6 plies, unsymm;0/30/45/60/90"; Material Family "3-6 plies, unsymm;0/30/45/60/90; 10% rule"

what is the main difference between these two families??

I opened and reviewed the materials with the same plies, for example: 4_[0/-45/45/90] frem these families respectively, they are same, no difference.

The layup families are used to categorize layup stacking sequences by common aerospace rules, like..

• Symmetry

• 45/-45 outside

• 10% rule (a minimum of 10% of each fiber direction is required)

The fact that some layups are in multiple families just means that they fit into multiple categories and meet each set of rules. For example, the Material Family "3-6 plies; Unsymm; 0/45/90" has 134 laminates and the Material Family "3-6 plies; Unsymm; 0/45/90; 10% rule" has 53 laminates. This family is a sub-set of the family before it and contains only the 53 laminates from the 134 that have 10% of plies in each 0/45/90 direction.
