Process for Hypersizer V5.6.38

For BJSFM the failure theory selections used on the Hypersizer FAILURE TAB does not influence the BJSFM failure analysis.

The user default tBJSFM failure theory is MAX STRAIN.

The user can set up alternate analysis failure theories for a BJSFM analysis. Right click on the project or workspace name in the database window and select backdoor data. In the project backdoor option window find the bolted joint section.

Variable Bolt Failure Method = 1.0 (Default). This option (1.0) will use the MAX STRAIN failure theory in BJSFM. Alternate options for this variable.

2 Maximum Stress Failure Theory
3 Tsai Hill Failure Theory
4 Modified Tsai Wu Failure Theory
5 Hoffman Failure Theory
6 Average Stress Criterion

Enter a value in the project column and click OK

Run BJSM using your user defined failure theory.
