Solid Element Core Honeycomb Sandwich Panel
« on: July 21, 2020, 10:52:10 AM »
I imported solid elements as honeycomb core and modeled sandwich panel. Then, when we were analyzing this model, we got an error.

Error # 1112: A Non-Sandwich candidate design has been assigned to a component defined in the FEM as two facesheets separated by a solid element. Component ID= 74305001

This component is cap of the rib and consists of bar elements.

Why we got this error and how can we solve it?

Hi Ömer,

This error suggests that Component ID 74305001 might conflict with a property ID from the one of the facesheets or solid element core of the sandwich component. It's difficult to verify if my assumption is true since HyperSizer does not show the individual property ID'd that make up a 2.5D sandwich component. Try renumbering Component ID 74305001 and reanalyzing.

Let me know if that solves the problem.

Thanks,

Brent

Hi Brent,

We checked and did not see any conflict between property IDs. Even so, we changed all property ID for all bar elements. But, when the analysis comes to bar elements for sizing, we get this error. Further, we deleted Component ID 74305001, then we got same error for other cap beam Component ID 74305002.

What can be a problem about bar elements?
