HyperSizer Support for Point Loading of a Panel
« on: August 11, 2008, 11:14:31 AM »
We would like to replicate point loading on sandwich panels. HyperSizer basic analysis appears to accommodate pressure loading over the entire panel. Is there a way to establish point load conditions located in various areas of the panel surface?

We do not have a way in the HyperSizer Basic capability to input point loading.  HyperSizer Basic is assuming that the loads are continuous across the panel (with the exception of pressure loading, where the loads at the panel edge and center can be different).  To do point loading, I believe you will need to create a finite element model with your point loading and import that model into HyperSizer Pro so that the panel can be sized including the effects of a concentrated load.
