how to set the boundary condition for Stiffener or panel?
« on: April 21, 2015, 03:38:59 AM »
Dear everyone?

if the stiffener boundary condition is clamped not simply support?but we set the BC in the buckling tab. it is about panel, not for stiffener.

the stiffeners are clamped to the transverse beam, and the skin(top face of stiffened panel) is put on the stiffeners, the top face boundary conditions are considered as simply support.

the different BC, the buckling failure is different, how to deal with it?

thanks

The boundary conditions set on the Project Sizing Form > Buckling Tab are the boundary conditions used for the Panel buckling methods, which include the stiffener column buckling.

The boundary condition assumptions used for spacing span local buckling are always SSSS. Users cannot directly change these BC assumptions. In the backdoor data form you can change the buckling coefficients used for local buckling.
