Confusion regarding "T" Beam

Dear Everyone,

a FEM plate with a beam,
the FEM is imported to the HyperSizer, the shell is difined the Sandwich concept, The beam is should is invert "T",(almost cases should be invert "T")
but according to the coordinates in Hypersizer, "T"concept: the flange is bonded or fastened to the shell, not the web.

whether can the "I"beam be used to as "T", the top flange width=web thickness.?

"T" is not popular in the structures, invert "T" should be add the open beam concept.

Could you rotate the beam orientation so the Nastran +Y (HyperSizer +Z) direction is pointed the opposite way?

how to verify it? and know it is right, not contrary.

for a complex model,it is maybe easy for the user to make mistake. and according to the result, cant find it is wrong design.

Graphic window should add the section profiles and thickness show. it is very obvious to know.

i use abaqus, and the iteration FEM is imported to FEA, the profile of beam isnot change according to the design result.   

thanks
