Purpose of Test Data Correlation??

Dear Everyone,

Regarding the Purpose of Test Data Correlation, it is not very clear.

i have read some PDF or help documents about Test Data Correlation. Cant understand very clearly.

HyperSizer calculated MOS according to Allowable Stress/Strain of Materails. Allowable stresses are from the Test or Lab or others. they should be authentic.

if the test data are different from the Allowables value, new meterail properity can be found, and it is used to the structure and carry failure analysis.

Setup Correlation Factor to adjust the failure load/prediction load, what is the purpose??
