Questions submitted by user via email:

Reading the old release notes, I found reference to HyperFemGen, which seems to set up finite element models of individual panels and run static analyses. The possibly of incorporating holes (such as windows) was also mentioned. Are any more details available on this? Do you have any other information on modelling panels with holes, such as windows or manholes in wings? I have wondered how to do this.

There is no additional information on HyperFEMGen yet.  We have a backdoor capability for this, but no interface yet.  Right now, HyperFEMGen will allow you to set up discrete model FEMs for several of our panel concepts (I, T, Z, orthogrid) and will allow you to put square holes in the panel.  I can send you a backdoor file to help you get started.  But unfortunately no documentation yet.

When using HyperFEMgen the user has several back door options.

1) The default settings can be found by opening the database main window. Right click on your  project or work space name.

a)Select the back door data from the pull down menu

b)  A form pops up showing the default back door settings in the user database. Scroll down to HyperFEMgen. The default setting "FEMgen create" is set to false.

2) OR Edit the backdoor file (Hypersizer.HBD) in directory C:\Program Files\HyperSizer. This file will override the settings in item 1. Not all users have a back door file. Much depends on the company defaults. Edit this file with caution.

3) OR Follow the process in 1 and enter values in the project value column. This option take priority over items 1 and 2.

If the user sets "FEMGen Create" to TRUE in the backdoor project column a FEM file is created by default in the user database directory / FEM. Be warned this can increase the analysis time. If not using this feature, set the backdoor FEMGen Create  setting back to FALSE

A HyperFEMGen PPT help file can be found at: (Rev V5.6.38)

http://www.hypersizer.com/downloads.html

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the More Powerpoint(PPT) presentations. A user login is required. This is supplied on request to users with a HyperSizer license.
