Hypersizer V5.7.x

Effective Laminate (EL)

Effective laminates are defined in terms of %age of plies in  directions 0°, 90°, +45°,-45°. This is a simplified process that is used when optimizing laminates in Hypersizer.

Hypersizer quotes EL's  as %45 / %0 / % 90 plies

The Industry standard is % 0  / %45 / %90

For example a QUASI isotropic laminate EL is  25 / 50 / 25

Please consider changing the EL laminate notation to the industry standard notation.

I have created some effective laminates from my newly created orthotropic material and laminate but I can not delete or modify the effectvie laminates as it says it is owned by CRD? How can I resolve this so that I can clean up the effective laminate material family?

1. You will not be able to modify any effective laminates created using the composites form.

2. To delete the materials you may use the 'Material Cleanup' Form.
     a. Make sure the material is removed from all groups and panel objects
     b. Remove the material from all projects in the database
     c. Launch the material cleanup form from the main HyperSizer window.  Go to Tools/Material Cleanup.
